Little bouquets, raised polka dots and an aqua ground give this 1940s cotton day
dress its particular charm. The gathered neckline and short sleeves frame a fitted
bodice, while the skirt opens into soft fullness below the waist and falls to mid-
calf. Pink and white flowers break up the dotted texture, making the fabric as much
a part of the story as the silhouette.

The dress appears handmade and is one of a kind, with no maker’s mark or label.
