# 1960s Brown Faux Fur Swing Coat with Red Satin Lining | Modern US M/L

A coat for making an entrance, even if you are only going out for coffee. Brown 
faux fur, a broad rounded collar and three oversized dark buttons give this vintage
swing coat its generous shape. The red satin lining is the surprise: quiet while
the coat is fastened, quite another story when you wear it open.

The 1960s silhouette falls away from the body instead of pulling in at the waist.
Horizontal panels break up the texture, while the roomy sleeves leave space for 
a slim layer underneath. There are pockets, too. On our model, the sleeves end above
the wrists, making a longer cuff or a pair of gloves part of the outfit.

The swing shape belongs to a broader mid-century fascination with clothes that stood
away from the body. Through the 1950s and into the 1960s, designers explored volume
beyond the tightly defined waist; swing coats offered their own easy version of 
that idea. Here, the dense faux-fur texture gives the outline presence, while the
smooth red lining adds contrast when the coat opens. A slim dress or trouser underneath
lets you enjoy that volume without losing your shape in layers.

Modern size: US M/L. The model pictured wears a modern US size 6; the coat has an
easy, loose fit on her. Measurements are available on request for the shoulders 
and fit over layers.

## How we would wear it

We paired it with a fitted blue jumpsuit and white sunglasses, letting a clean line
underneath balance the coat’s volume. For a different mood, try a black turtleneck,
narrow trousers and ankle boots. Chocolate brown with a pale pink knit would soften
the palette; red gloves would pick up the lining without matching the whole outfit.
