Painterly magenta, blue and violet are only the beginning of these Amy Lacombe earrings.
Their asymmetric panels rise into sculptural folds, edged with rippled gold and 
crossed by rounded organic overlays. From the front they read as vivid little compositions;
the side views reveal how much dimension sits above the colored surfaces. The hand-
applied resin enamel-look finish has the individual variations that distinguish 
studio costume jewelry from a flat, uniform finish.

Dated 1988 and signed “Lacombe © 1988,” the pair comes from Amy Lacombe’s Los Angeles
studio jewelry work. The combination of saturated color, irregular outlines and
