Late 1960s/early 1970s I. Magnin blazer features bold purple gingham two-tone pattern throughout cotton fabric, peak notch lapels & a four-button closure. Jacket is fully lined with cream/white cotton fabric. A very tailored/sleek blazer, finished by hand stitching as well as a single-vented back.
No size marked but fits like a USA size 2/4; letter size S; European size 40. Please be sure of your size before purchasing. In very-good-to-excellent gently worn vintage condition. Make origin unknown, but likely union-made in the USA, which was common for clothing by I. Magnin at the time.
“I. Magnin was a legendary San Francisco department store that was founded in 1876 by Mary Ann Magnin and named for her husband Isaac. Originally, the couple sold baby clothing, which Mary Ann made, and Isaac sold as a peddler. The following year they opened a store that sold the clothes along with ladies’ toiletries.
