Donate Clothing, Beauty Care, and Home Essentials

The People’s Free Boutique by Quirk accepts curated, high-quality donations that meet the real needs of individuals and families rebuilding after the LA fires. Services and in-person donation appointments take place at 755 S Spring Street, Los Angeles. Drop-offs are by appointment only and goods are reviewed on site by our team.

Gift cards help us purchase supplies and infrastructure for The People’s Free Boutique. Our office and mailing address is Quirk, 112 W 9th St, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Please use the form below to coordinate mailed goods before sending. Monetary donations are currently paused.

Important Donation Guidelines (Please Read)

We lovingly ask donors to treat this process the same way they would a Buy Nothing group or a resale shop like Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads.

If you wouldn’t feel good receiving it yourself, please don’t donate it.

  • Clothing (Excellent to Like-New Condition Only)
  • Newborn to teen clothing
  • Men’s clothing
  • Women’s clothing
  • Clean
  • Free of stains, rips, or heavy wear
  • Seasonally appropriate
  • In excellent or like-new condition
  • Something you’d buy secondhand for yourself or a loved one.
  • Beauty & Personal Care Items (Always Needed)
  •  
  • New, unopened beauty and personal care items
  • Skincare, haircare, hygiene products
  • Items suitable for all genders and ages
  • These are often the hardest items for displaced families to replace and are deeply appreciated.
  • Small Home Goods & Furniture
  • Lamps
  • Small tables or shelving
  • Kitchen basics
  • Decor suitable for temporary or new housing. (Please include photos when offering home goods or furniture so we can confirm fit and storage capacity.)

What We Cannot Accept

This policy allows us to maintain a respectful, boutique-style experience for everyone involved.

  • Promo t-shirts or branded giveaway apparel
  • Old flip flops or heavily worn shoes
  • Used undergarments
  • Damaged, stained, or heavily worn items
  • Items with strong odors, pet hair, or mildew
  • Broken or unsafe furniture
  • Items you would not want in exchange for money
  • Anything deemed unusable by our team will be returned to the donor in real time during the appointment.

How the Donation Process Works

This process ensures fairness, transparency, and respect for both donors and recipients.

Fill up the Donate Items form with a description of what you’d like to give.

Our team reviews all offers to ensure alignment with current needs.

Approved donors are scheduled for a drop-off appointment at our DTLA location.

Soft goods are reviewed together on site. Items we cannot use will be returned immediately.

All donation appointments take place at our Downtown Los Angeles distribution hub, located within the Quirk showroom space.
