Jack and Helen Lazar founded Kimberly in New York in 1946, beginning with wool sweaters and expanding into coordinated knit skirts, dresses, suits and coats. Kims was also a Kimberly Knitwear trademark. The company’s fitted knit separates offered a flexible, polished approach to mid-century dressing.
