Description
1960s Veldore of Houston Hand-Decorated Beaded Clutch with Original Invitation/Menu
Description:
This early ’60s Veldore of Houston clutch is more than an accessory — it’s a narrative. The front is richly bedecked with metallic seed beads, glass bugle beads, faux pearls, and sequins, arranged in a tapestry of shimmer and texture against black fabric. A gold-tone kiss-lock frame opens to reveal a peach satin lining, complete with the original Veldore label stitched at the interior.
Inside, preserved after all these decades, is a typewritten program and menu from the ESP Mystic Banquet in Little Rock, December 5, 1961 — likely carried by the original owner to that very event. That combination of sparkle and provenance makes this clutch not just elegant, but evocative.
Wear it out on nights when it matters, or let it live as a display piece in any vintage collection.
