Description

A vintage LRX Pure Light patterned knit sweater made in Italy, with a soft geometric motif in white, gray, black, aqua, taupe, and muted pastel yarns. The knit has a textured, dimensional surface with a slightly fuzzy marled effect, giving the sweater visual depth without feeling too loud.

The silhouette is a classic crewneck pullover with ribbed trim at the neck, cuffs, and hem. The pattern runs across the front, back, and sleeves, creating a balanced allover graphic that feels very late-1980s to 1990s: cozy, artful, and a little alpine without being overly literal.

Marked size S. Based on Dean’s measurements and the visible fit, this is best for a modern men’s S/M to slim M, approximately 38/40 chest, depending on desired fit. On Dean, it fits close through the chest and body with a shorter vintage sweater length.

Shown on Dean with light trousers. Listing is for the sweater only.

Fit Notes

Marked size S. Estimated modern fit is men’s S/M to slim M, approximately 38/40 chest.

Shown on Dean, who is 6’2”, 170 lb, wears a men’s Medium shirt, 40L slim-fit suit, has a 40” chest, 36” sleeve, and 31/32” waist. On Dean, the sweater fits close through the chest and body with a shorter vintage length. Best for a modern men’s Small/Medium or someone who wears a slim Medium and prefers a neat vintage sweater fit.

Because Dean is tall with a 36” sleeve, the sleeve and body length are useful references. This is not an oversized fit on him.

Condition

Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The sweater presents well overall, with strong color and a great textured knit surface. Minor fuzziness, small loose yarns, and light knit wear are visible in the photos, especially near the ribbed edges, consistent with the style and age of the piece. No major structural flaws are visible in the photos. Please review photos carefully.

Styling Notes

Wear it with cream trousers for a clean vintage look, or style it with faded denim, brown cords, olive fatigues, or black pleated pants. It also layers well under a tan jacket, wool coat, denim jacket, or oversized blazer. The soft aqua and gray tones pair especially well with ivory, khaki, charcoal, washed black, chocolate brown, and pale denim.

Shown with

Styled with light trousers for shoot styling. Listing is for the sweater only unless otherwise stated.

Curation Note

Selected for its Italian-made label, textured geometric knit, soft color palette, and easy late-1980s/1990s styling. It has the kind of graphic but wearable vintage knitwear feel that works across art-school, casual tailoring, and soft menswear looks.

Authenticity Note

Interior label reads LRX Pure Light and Made in Italy, with a marked size S. Era is estimated based on label design, knit construction, pattern, silhouette, and overall late-1980s/1990s styling context.

Quirk is WONDERFUL! Small but mighty, always new and exciting finds, plus the real deal when it comes to fashion and expression. Owned by a stylist/awesome fashionista, with a passion and drive that offers the best experience in vintage shopping. I got the most gorgeous silk blouse...and some shoes that fit me like Cinderella! If you live in Los Angeles, you know how hard it is to find awesome vintage at a reasonable price. From the fight over Dior at a thrift store, to the snobby and over priced 'bo-ho' Buffalo Exchange, to the trendy and overly pretentious places on Melrose-it's just another face in the crowd, on the scene. It's more comfortable and personable at Quirk. You get the deals, yeah-but the experience is worth more!

I finally walked in after walking by for years when I heard they were in need for volunteers for their donation drive. I'm ashamed I haven't found this store before. The owner is fantastic, she hopped out of a hospital bed and straight to setting up this push to help people. The store, as it's known, on the fourth floor feels like you are thriving with some of the most upbeat staff to aid you find everything you need for woman's clothing, toiletries, and undergarments. On the second is where you can find an almost equal amount of men's, rare to have this ratio in any department store. Kids all the way down to infants, with diapers, and toys. Here you can see volunteers going from room to room sorting through, sizing, and cleaning up donations to stock both floors. Snacks, water, non-perishable food, and a welcome environment has made this a far distinction from digging through a pile of T-shirts on a folding table. My time volunteering here has been exhausting in the best way, the tiredness that comes with knowing you've done good, that your work and presence are valued. I'll continue to be here everyday I can until Melynda gets tired of me saying, "Happy ___day!" We're still here!
