I've been coming to Quirk for years now. Some of my favorite pieces have come from her shop and I always get compliments. It's the perfect place to get something unique that not everyone has. Top quality items. One of my first pieces I bought from her is a vintage Armani blazer that has become a regular staple piece for me. Still in my rotation years later :) The shopping experience itself is always a treat (coming from someone who doesn't like shopping). Melynda is super welcoming and helpful if you're looking for something in particular. If she doesn't have it, it's likely she will soon, as she's regularly getting new inventory. I cannot say enough glowing words about Quirk. It's the absolute best. I've come several times since 2020 and they never miss. Melynda is a top-tier curator. All her pieces feel hand-picked with thought, care, and a keen eye for taste and style. It's easy to find a great deal here: I've found a vintage Dior wallet at Quirk, as well as multiple outfits for red carpets, premieres, photoshoots, and day-to-day wear. She keeps prices super fair and reasonable while knowing her stuff when it comes to true vintage, designer, and quality. I always know I'm getting my money's worth. As a stylist, Melynda is a true treat and I highly recommend working with her.  Whether it's working on a tight budget and creating 15-30 looks from vintage pieces, or an expanded budget that can pull from showrooms and designer pieces, or even creating a custom piece--Melynda knows how to meet the needs of every budget and occasion and go above and beyond. She puts in the work when it comes to event research and advocates for a client's personal taste. She has styled high-profile clients and costumed network television shows--it's hard to find someone who knows more about true vintage and eras than Melynda! As someone who loves vintage shopping, thrifting, and flea/artist/vintage markets, I'm always looking for vendors and stores, and Quirk is one of those special places where you can tell vintage is a real passion, not just a place to make a quick buck on a Tiktok trend (though you can definitely find super trendy pieces here too!). At Quirk, I'd say clothes are treated like found treasure looking for their forever home! I come back again and again because the pieces are fun and always changing. As a store owner, Melynda is friendly, knowledgable, and is great at offering styling advice for each customer's unique taste. She keeps such a positive shopping atmosphere in the store. Melinda who started and runs Quirk the people free boutique is so amazing upbeat and selfless to continue to help all of us that lost our homes. Quirk has been a loving space for me to get help to start over again and a big part of my healing journey I have visited a couple of times and found wonderful clothes to help me get back to work and visit my son at college. It is organized, clean and has great donations. I am forever grateful and count Melinda as a new friend. I also met many other fire victims and ran into old friends. I am such a shop-aholic at her store. I love her dresses and shoes. The owner always put a great story behind every outfit and whom she did her work. The owner, Melynda is AMAZING Stylist in the business. Her work is ABSOLUTELY amazing and her dog Prudence who comes into the store makes the vibe very loving and friendly. 5 stars for what they are doing for the community but not for my personal experience. They were listed on the wildfire Google sheet / website as one of the few places still accepting donations, so I brought all my unworn clothes over. The address on the website and online is not the correct one, so had to get back in my car and find new parking closer to the new location. Then I get inside and they said donations are by appointment only. 30 minute drive and a lot of parking hassle with nothing to show for it. I appreciate what Quirk is doing and helping restoring the lives of those affected by the fires!!! It's always a humbling experience to give back to the community and receive services. Quirk is the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you’ve inherited the wardrobe of a rich, eccentric aunt who traveled the world and kept all the best pieces. Every rack feels intentional, lived in, and full of personality. Nothing feels random. Each item has a story, and you can sense it the moment you start browsing. The bag selection alone is worth the stop. There are so many standout pieces that feel like true finds, not just resale. The kind of bags you don’t see twice. What really makes this place special is the owner, Melynda. She’s genuinely fun to talk to and clearly passionate about what she curates. You can tell there’s pride and care behind every piece in the shop. Talking with her about vintage fashion and the stories behind the items made the experience feel personal, not transactional. My friend and I were exploring the fashion district and came across this place and it is a total gem! Some very interesting timeless pieces that were super fun too look through and such a friendly vibe. Shoutout to the lady working there, I believe it was Malinda, she was so friendly and I had such a good time talking with her! She is so passionate and stylish and her friendliness and love for fashion is what makes me love LA! Certainly must visit if your in the area!!!!
