Description
A wonderfully sculptural 1950s cocktail hat in a soft blush pink satin with a matching face veil.
The smooth, low-profile crown is framed by a remarkable series of repeated satin loops that curve across the front and continue around the sides. The treatment feels architectural and feminine at once, giving the hat dimension without relying on flowers, feathers, or jeweled embellishment.
A coordinating silk net veil falls from the crown and frames the face, completing the unmistakably mid-century silhouette. The tonal construction keeps the design refined, while the unusual looped edge gives it a point of view that reads beautifully from every angle.
The original Maxine Hats label remains sewn inside.
A striking piece of vintage millinery for cocktail dressing, weddings, editorial styling, period costume, or pairing with clean contemporary tailoring.

Fit Notes
Estimated modern hat size S/M based on Melynda’s in-shoot size note.
This is a structured half hat designed to perch over the crown and frame the upper head rather than pull down like a full fitted cap. The base has little apparent stretch, so placement will depend on head circumference, hairstyle, and preferred angle.
The veil is intended to fall softly over the forehead and upper face. Because vintage silk netting is delicate, it should be arranged gently rather than pulled.
Condition
Very good vintage condition.
The satin crown retains its structured shape, smooth finish, and soft blush color. The repeated loop trim remains present and gives the hat its original sculptural silhouette. The interior label is intact and legible.
Age-related wear includes scattered discoloration and surface abrasion along portions of the satin loop trim, localized darkening near the veil attachment points, minor handling marks, and visible breaks, fraying, and unevenness within the delicate silk net veil. The interior shows light age-related wear and faint marks.
The hat remains visually strong and wearable with careful handling, but the veil should be considered fragile.
Styling Notes
Pair it with ivory tailoring, a pale gray column dress, chocolate satin, soft florals, a sharply cut black suit, or a tonal pink ensemble.
It would also make an unexpected bridal or courthouse-wedding piece for someone who prefers sculptural vintage over a traditional white veil.
