1970s Turquoise TP Monogram Dagger-Collar Shirt | Modern size: Men’s S

A vivid estimated 1970s button-front shirt in turquoise satin-finish woven fabric with an allover black TP monogram, elongated dagger collar, black buttons, and dramatically extended split cuffs. The close, sculpted cut gives it a strong disco-era line without reading like costume. Best fits a modern men’s S or unisex XS/S, depending on the desired fit. Shown on Jayden with a slim fit through the torso.

Description

A sharp piece of late-20th-century nightlife dressing in electric turquoise and black. This button-front shirt is covered in a precise repeating TP monogram, giving the surface a graphic rhythm that becomes more dimensional as the light catches its subtle sheen.

The silhouette is distinctly fitted through the torso, with a long pointed dagger collar, curved shirttail hem, black buttons, and unusually deep split cuffs that extend over the hands. Those exaggerated proportions give the shirt its personality. It feels part disco, part glam, and part modern editorial menswear.

The color makes an immediate statement, but the small-scale black print keeps it controlled. Wear it buttoned high with tailored black trousers, open at the neck with dark denim, or under a velvet jacket. The deep cuffs can be left extended for full impact or folded back for an easier proportion.

Fit Notes

Estimated to best fit a modern men’s S, with possible crossover for a unisex XS/S depending on the desired ease.

On Jayden, the shirt fits closely through the shoulders, chest, waist, and arms. The body is intentionally shaped rather than relaxed. The extended cuffs fall well past the wrist and are part of the shirt’s original dramatic design.

A broader chest, shoulders, or upper arms would likely create a tighter fit. This is best suited to someone who prefers a slim, body-conscious vintage shirt silhouette.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition.

The turquoise ground remains bright, the TP print appears crisp, and the black buttons are present throughout the visible front. No major stains, holes, tears, or significant print loss are visible in the photos. Light wear consistent with age may be present.

Styling Notes

Wear with black flare trousers, dark raw denim, a narrow leather trouser, or a sharply tailored suit. The shirt also works under a black velvet jacket or worn open over a fitted tank.

The accompanying monogram portfolio clutch is separate inventory and is not included with the shirt.

Curation Note

Each Quirk piece is hand selected by our team for quality, construction, styling potential, and point of view.

Sizing Chart to add this for Vintage Clothes Vintage sizing varies greatly by brand, country, garment type, and time period. The marked vintage size may not reflect today’s sizing standards. Whenever possible, we provide both the original marked size and our estimated modern US size equivalent. This estimate is based on the item’s era, construction, fabric behavior, relevant size references, and how the piece fits on the model shown. After I lost my home in the Eaton Fire, I desperately needed clothes to wear to the office. I was thrilled to find some beautiful pieces at the People's Free Boutique by Quirk. Everything was clean, well sorted, in good condition, and I even found some pieces that still had tags on them! I am so grateful for those who donated the clothing, and the very kind and caring volunteers! Thank you!

5 stars for what they are doing for the community but not for my personal experience. They were listed on the wildfire Google sheet / website as one of the few places still accepting donations, so I brought all my unworn clothes over. The address on the website and online is not the correct one, so had to get back in my car and find new parking closer to the new location. Then I get inside and they said donations are by appointment only. 30 minute drive and a lot of parking hassle with nothing to show for it. Would be nice if they updated their donation status and location on the Google sheet. Annoying for me but glad they are helping those in need. The new location is in the photo.

An absolute gem of a boutique, with a constant stream of unique vintage pieces! I was able to get the perfect dress, pumps, handbag, and hat for a formal tea at very short notice. The store is easy to access in the second floor of a fashion design building. The owner is a talented costume designer with a wealth of experience from film and more. Whether you go in with a decade-specific goal in mind, or are just looking for a special treasure, you will surely find something magical!!!

Quirk is a great place to rent or buy unique clothing. Melynda has curated such a great variety of items. I rented a gorgeous gown for a work event and bought multiple things including a vintage Italian suit that I get complimented on all the time. It is a wonder place to discover and elevate your personal style.

Love this store & Melinda beyond BEYOND She is so helpful and creative. Her fashion sense and charm will bring about the perfect outfit for any occasion. I went in 6 months pregnant, hot and in need of some fun looks to brighten up my life. Though at first I was hesitant to even step in the dressing room, within minutes of chatting I was up for trying on a slew of marvelous new styles! I even got the perfect shoes

I had such a wonderful time at Quirk. As someone who has never been to a fashion district and who has never been styled before, I hadn't extraordinary time getting to know my own sense of fashion. Melynda was so dope and helpful. She helped style me and gave me a new fresh look. I ended up buying something off of the $20 rack so she has affordable options as well. Definitely coming back again for my next shopping trip!
