Description

Product Description
A Vintage Andrea Pfister x Anne Chandy Cream Leather Toucan Appliqué Jacket labeled Anne Chandy, Made in Italy, with an additional Andrea Pfister label at the interior. The piece features bold leather appliqué artwork: vivid green tropical leaves across the front and sleeves, with a large multicolor toucan perched among leaves across the back.

The silhouette is relaxed and open, with a collarless neckline, long sleeves, front pockets, and an easy oversized shape that reads somewhere between kimono jacket, artist coat, and statement leather topper. The cream leather body keeps it soft and tonal from the front, while the back turns fully graphic with saturated color and texture.

Andrea Pfister is especially known in vintage resale for decorative Italian-made shoes and accessories, often with vivid appliqué, novelty motifs, and mixed leather textures. This jacket carries that same design language in a much rarer garment format. The appliqué appears to include textured and reptile-embossed leather or leather-like panels, though exact material content is not visible and should not be overstated without a fiber/material tag.

Shown on Dominique, who is 5’9″ and typically wears a modern high-fashion size 2/4, with a 32B bust, 25″ waist, and 37″ hips. On Dominique, this has a relaxed oversized fit with dropped ease through the body and sleeves. Best for a modern S/M depending on desired fit, and wearable oversized on smaller sizes.

Fit Notes
Shown on Dominique, who is 5’9″ and typically wears a modern high-fashion size 2/4, with a 32B bust, 25″ waist, and 37″ hips.

On Dominique, this fits oversized and relaxed, with an open-front shape, generous sleeve volume, and a longer jacket length that falls past the hip. Best for a modern S/M depending on desired fit, or oversized on XS/S. Exact fit should be confirmed with flat measurements.

Please compare measurements to a similar jacket you already own.

Condition
Good vintage condition with visible wear and some minor damage consistent with age and use. The cream leather body shows scattered marks, discoloration, and visible staining, especially along the sleeve shown in close-up. There are also natural creases and surface variation throughout the leather. Priced lower due to condition.

The appliqué artwork appears intact in the photos, with some normal edge lift, texture variation, and age-related wear possible. Please review photos closely. This piece is best for someone who appreciates rare statement vintage with lived-in character rather than pristine white leather.

Styling Notes
Style with:
Black trousers and a minimal tank to let the back graphic lead
A slip dress and flat sandals for resort-evening drama
High-rise denim and a simple bralette or camisole
Wide-leg printed pants for a full art-to-wear look
A column skirt and gold jewelry for gallery-opening polish

The BEST vintage shop in LA!! The minute you walk in you are greeted by the owner and stylist, which is rare for a vintage shop, if you ask me! Melynda is absolutely wonderful and provides excellent customer service! Since she's a professional stylist she's extremely knowledgeable about fashion and helps you coordinate outfits together. She has a great assortment of women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories. I try to visit the shop once every two weeks, you just can't beat the prices, it's cheaper than Wasteland! If you are looking for one of a kind vintage pieces from the 1960's to now, Quirk is your place to shop! They carry Theory, James Perse, APC, Prada, Burberry and many more! I highly recommend this vintage shop!!

I finally walked in after walking by for years when I heard they were in need for volunteers for their donation drive. I'm ashamed I haven't found this store before. The owner is fantastic, she hopped out of a hospital bed and straight to setting up this push to help people. The store, as it's known, on the fourth floor feels like you are thriving with some of the most upbeat staff to aid you find everything you need for woman's clothing, toiletries, and undergarments. On the second is where you can find an almost equal amount of men's, rare to have this ratio in any department store. Kids all the way down to infants, with diapers, and toys. Here you can see volunteers going from room to room sorting through, sizing, and cleaning up donations to stock both floors. Snacks, water, non-perishable food, and a welcome environment has made this a far distinction from digging through a pile of T-shirts on a folding table. My time volunteering here has been exhausting in the best way, the tiredness that comes with knowing you've done good, that your work and presence are valued. I'll continue to be here everyday I can until Melynda gets tired of me saying, "Happy ___day!" We're still here!

This is such a fabulous find! A true gem tucked away in DTLA!! I went looking for vintage men’s items to match a watch I was gifted, and Melynda helped me pick out the most beautiful suit. She’s amazing too - she has the most fun and quirky style, but also donates clothes to victims of the wildfires. She gave me a tour of “The People’s Free Boutique” and it’s laid out to make those who have lost everything feel like they are really shopping for high-end items rather than getting things for free. I will be back to support Quirk Vintage again!!

I had a really good experience at Quirk. Its located in DTLA which is known to give you headaches with parking. Luckily there were several fairly priced garage options on the same block. The shop is located on the second floor of this cool, early 20th century style building. I love vintage buildings so I was hyped before I even stepped into Quirk. But once inside I was really digging the vibes. They have a really selection of vintage, modern clothes for women and men. With assistance of the curator, Melynda, I was able to grab a few items for an upcoming headshot session. I didn't have to break the bank as the items I purchased were from a $20 rack. I will def go again. I highly recommend checking it out.

Quirk is the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you've inherited the wardrobe of a rich, eccentric aunt who traveled the world and kept all the best pieces. Every rack feels intentional, lived in, and full of personality. Nothing feels random. Each item has a story, and you can sense it the moment you start browsing. The bag selection alone is worth the stop. There are so many standout pieces that feel like true finds, not just resale. The kind of bags you don't see twice. What really makes this place special is the owner, Melynda. She's genuinely fun to talk to and clearly passionate about what she curates. You can tell there's pride and care behind every piece in the shop. Talking with her about vintage fashion and the stories behind the items made the experience feel personal, not transactional. This ended up being one of the coolest spots I stumbled into in the fashion district. If you appreciate vintage that feels curated and soulful rather than picked over, Quirk is a must.

After I lost my home in the Eaton Fire, I desperately needed clothes to wear to the office. I was thrilled to find some beautiful pieces at the People's Free Boutique by Quirk. Everything was clean, well sorted, in good condition, and I even found some pieces that still had tags on them! I am so grateful for those who donated the clothing, and the very kind and caring volunteers! Thank you!

I love this boutique! It's clear the owner Melynda has thoughtfully hand-picked and carefully curated an amazing collection of designer vintage and secondhand pieces. She has a fantastic selection of designer shoes and purses, and everything is in A+ condition or is like new! Melynda herself is super personable and always happy to help you find befitting pieces. There's also a superb selection of men's clothes and she has her own original designs for sale as well! So far I've bought two pairs of velvet gloves from her in-house label and I LOVE them! I get tons of compliments whenever I wear them. The designs are so unique, and the quality and construction are top notch. She's even making me a custom pair of pants using the same fabric as the gloves so I can have a matching set to wear to the Dreamstate Festival later this year! Plus there's a $20 sale rack with incredible finds. I highly recommend Quirk if you're looking for unique pieces that are in great condition and well priced, and super customer service 🤗

My friends and I had a very pleasant and wonderful visit at Quirk. I got these beautiful snake skin shoes with a vintage neck scarf which i also fall in love with. I got compliments from people every time i wear them. I wanted to buy everything when I was there. There are jewelry, scarfs , shoes, dresses and the HATS. The price is very affordable so I was a happy shopper. The next best thing ( or the best ) about Quirk is the shop owner, Melynda. She is friendly and extremely helpful in helping you putting your dream outfits together and giving you advices when you needed them. She makes my shopping experience fun and comfortable. The shop is beautiful. I love the warmth and the openness of the shop. It stands out in the middle of the busy downtown LA streets. I will definitely come back and visit again when I come back to LA.

Ten out of five stars for Melynda and her all volunteer Quirk crew for creating the People's Free Boutique in an unused corner space in DTLA, providing much needed, intentional, and high quality clothing and supplies for those of us who lost everything in LA's January fires. My family and I came to Quirk and were welcomed with care and respect, mirroring the quality and thoughtfulness of the clothing offered, and being given the dignity of choice to dress ourselves in clothing that we prefer. The Quirk crew were professional and kind, dealing with a gradually melting down child and frazzled adults, recognizing and validating the collective trauma of their guests, and providing a space of hope, solace, and care out of the goodness of their hearts. I was able to restock much of my professional and casual wardrobe, grab some high quality toiletries, kids clothing, and an epic penny board for my kid. I cannot recommend a visit to the People's Free Boutique and Melynda's Quirk store on 9th enough!
