1990s Slate Blue Geometric Print Button-Front Shirt, Modern Men’s M/L

A 1990s long-sleeve shirt in dusty slate blue with an allover cream and taupe geometric tile print. The relaxed shape, softly pointed collar, and restrained pattern give it an easy art-school quality that works buttoned, tucked, or worn open as a light layer. Description

A softly graphic vintage shirt with enough pattern to carry an outfit without overpowering it.

The dusty slate-blue ground is covered in small cream, taupe, and gray geometric motifs, including tiled diamonds, concentric squares, and medallion-like forms. From a distance, the print reads as subtle texture. Up close, the variation in the individual motifs gives the shirt a more considered, almost textile-study quality.

The silhouette is relaxed and nearly straight through the body, with subtly dropped shoulders, long sleeves, buttoned cuffs, a softly pointed collar, and a single chest pocket integrated into the print. Neutral buttons keep the palette quiet, while the curved shirttail hem allows the shirt to work equally well tucked, untucked, or layered over a tee.

On Kaden, the fit is comfortably loose without becoming dramatically oversized. Wear it buttoned into a high waist, open over a graphic T-shirt or fine ribbed tank, or layered beneath a solid blazer, sweater vest, chore coat, or leather jacket.

The dusty blue palette works especially well with pale denim, cream, olive, chocolate brown, faded black, rust, burgundy, and deep indigo.

Fit Notes

Estimated to best fit a modern men’s M/L.

On Kaden, the shoulder line sits slightly relaxed, the chest and torso retain easy room, and the sleeves reach the wrist with a softly slouched shape. The shirt is roomy enough to layer over a T-shirt while remaining clean enough to wear buttoned on its own.

A modern men’s Medium should receive the relaxed fit shown. A modern men’s Large should receive a closer fit through the shoulders and chest while retaining moderate ease through the body.

The straight cut also makes the shirt well suited to unisex styling, depending on the wearer’s measurements and preferred amount of volume.

Condition

Very Good Vintage Condition.

The shirt presents cleanly overall, with strong color, a clear allover print, secure visible seams, and all photographed front and cuff buttons present. The collar, chest pocket, back yoke, cuffs, and curved hem appear structurally sound.

Light creasing, gentle surface wear, and subtle tonal variation are present and consistent with age and previous use. No major holes, large isolated stains, open exterior seams, or significant print loss are apparent in the photographed areas.

Please review all images closely, as they form part of the condition description.

Styling Notes

Wear it buttoned into pleated trousers for a clean 1990s silhouette, or leave it open over a graphic tee with wide-leg denim. The small-scale pattern also works particularly well beneath a solid blazer, leather jacket, sweater vest, or chore coat.

For a softer tonal look, pair it with cream, pale blue, washed gray, or faded denim. For more contrast, try olive, tobacco, burgundy, rust, chocolate brown, or deep indigo.

Styling / Cross-Sell Note

The aqua tie-dye sailor pants, bright blue graphic T-shirt, sunglasses, jewelry, loafers, and other styling pieces shown in the photographs are separate inventory and are not included with the shirt.

Connect the aqua tie-dye pants through Shop the Look if their product page is active.

Curation Note

Each Quirk piece is hand selected by our team for quality, construction, styling potential, and point of view.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

My mom and I found the Peoples Free Boutique by Quirk after the fires devastated our neighborhood in Altadena. We've been building care boxes for an entire group of people, not just ourselves, and were welcomed into the space. It allowed us to recreate beautiful closets in a safe space, which has become harder to find as the relief efforts continue in the second wave. Very grateful for the energy and dedication that Melynda and her team of volunteers had shown to our community!! Go check out the Peoples Free Boutique on Spring St if you've been impacted by the fires they will help you rebuild and feel fabulous! If you weren't impacted by the fires but want to support Quirk for now you would message Melynda on Instagram to set up a shopping appointment! She's so dedicated to the relief efforts her store is still running by appointment only so she can keep the Free Boutique open! Love them!!!

Where shall I begin? My cuz and I went because we lost everything in the fire! Trent greeted us, Carmen helped me snd Allison my cuz. They treated us like Gold! We both felt very special! What a gem of a place! Everything I took home fit. The clothes were fabulous but Trent was so cool and cute, Carmen was so very helpful going out if her way for me and Allison helped my cousin hand pick his new wardrobe and not to mention she was gorgeous to boot! Thank you Quirk, Thanks for going above and beyond and for restoring my faith in humanity! Margo and Raul

I had a really good experience at Quirk. Its located in DTLA which is known to give you headaches with parking. Luckily there were several fairly priced garage options on the same block. The shop is located on the second floor of this cool, early 20th century style building. I love vintage buildings so I was hyped before I even stepped into Quirk. But once inside I was really digging the vibes. They have a really selection of vintage, modern clothes for women and men. With assistance of the curator, Melynda, I was able to grab a few items for an upcoming headshot session. I didn't have to break the bank as the items I purchased were from a $20 rack. I will def go again. I highly recommend checking it out.

I volunteered at Quirk all afternoon today, and there is so much love and support alive in that space. They are overwhelmed with so many incredible donations and every single thing is being sorted and placed directly into the free shop where fire victims can come shop and get what they need. All items are the same quality you would find in a thrift store like Buffalo Exchange. There were volunteers helping people find clothing items that fit and served their needs while they’re grappling with the loss of their homes and belongings. There are so many ways fire victims need support and this is one of them! Thank you Quirk and the other amazing organization and businesses stepping up to help our community!

Melynda totally saved the day! She came on a magical unicorn and brought me my dress! I was searching for a dress for a wedding that went with their Great Gatsby theme and was totally not sure where to begin and what to wear. She helped me find a necklace and a dress here at the shop that was absolutely perfect! I got a gold and gunmetal tassel necklace and a robin egg's blue lace Tracy Reese dress. She was even kind enough to alter the shoulders for me since the wedding was the day of! They even had a funny wedding card that for the bride and groom! Mission accomplished, now just have to get a scarf or headpiece for my head to complete the theme and Melynda gave me some tips!! Will be back for next time when I need her expertise. They have an always shifting collection of curated vintage and new clothing. Love Quirk LA!

My friends and I had a very pleasant and wonderful visit at Quirk. I got these beautiful snake skin shoes with a vintage neck scarf which i also fall in love with. I got compliments from people every time i wear them. I wanted to buy everything when I was there. There are jewelry, scarfs , shoes, dresses and the HATS. The price is very affordable so I was a happy shopper. The next best thing ( or the best ) about Quirk is the shop owner, Melynda. She is friendly and extremely helpful in helping you putting your dream outfits together and giving you advices when you needed them. She makes my shopping experience fun and comfortable. The shop is beautiful. I love the warmth and the openness of the shop. It stands out in the middle of the busy downtown LA streets. I will definitely come back and visit again when I come back to LA.
