Description
A deep Bordeaux red and a gathered leather ribbon give this vintage Salvatore Ferragamo wallet its character. The long rectangular shape keeps the effect restrained, with a small metal accent at the center of the ribbon and a softly gleaming leather surface. It is a lovely alternative to a plain black wallet, especially if the inside of your bag deserves a little color, too.
The fold-over design opens to divided compartments, card slots and a central zipped section. The matching interior keeps the look cohesive, while the elongated shape offers more separation than a compact cardholder. Fine creasing in the leather softens the otherwise tidy silhouette.
Ribbon details have a particular place in Ferragamo’s design history. Fiamma Ferragamo introduced the bow-trimmed Vara shoe in 1978, as documented by the Ferragamo Foundation. This wallet’s leather ribbon has a quieter, more sculptural character than a fabric bow, but shares that interest in turning a small decorative detail into the focus of an accessory.
Condition and details
Vintage and pre-owned, with visible creasing and light surface wear to the leather. The Bordeaux finish, ribbon detail, back and interior are shown in the photographs. This listing is for the wallet only.
A little color, every day
Bordeaux works beautifully against camel, navy and charcoal, but it is just as good with a pink bag or a flash of leopard print. Let it sit alongside polished leather accessories for a coordinated look, or use its formal shape to offset a casual canvas tote.
