Be careful. A red heart, a blue tear and a small puddle turn a familiar warning into embroidery. Quirk founder and designer Melynda drew the original artwork by hand before translating it into this stitched design. For our emo friends, a little company on the way out the door.

The crying heart sits at the front of this embroidered heart bucket hat, above the words “Be Careful.” Stone and white cotton provide a quiet background for the red, blue and black stitching. The classic brim and soft twill keep the shape easy to wear with a T-shirt, knitwear or a more considered outfit.

Check the fit

The size guide lists a circumference of approximately 22 inches / 56 cm. Measure around your head with a non-stretch tape, about 1 inch / 2.5 cm above your ears, across the middle of your forehead and around the fullest part at the back. Allow for your hair and preferred fit. Measurements may vary by up to 1 inch / 2.54 cm.

One size does not mean every head size. Please contact us for fit guidance before ordering if you are unsure.

This ended up being one of the coolest spots I stumbled into in the fashion district. If you appreciate vintage that feels curated and soulful rather than picked over, Quirk is a must.

I volunteered at The People's Free Boutique while it was still in its temporary space, and I am better for it. It is a wonderful resource, Melynda has been so organized, compassionate, and all around an amazing leader for this huge effort to assist those impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires. Through some folks' worst days, Melynda and the Quirk team were there. It's amazing that Melynda has kept it up for as long as she has, and I hope the People's Free Boutique can stay open as long as there is a community need.

Great vintage shop in Downtown! With all the new vintage stores popping up around LA these days, Quirk really stands out with having unique, high quality items that are personally curated by the owner, Melynda, who is also a professional stylist and costume designer. Most vintage shops these days are just filled with XXL 80s/90s shirts, and overpriced jeans. Quirk has one-of-a-kind items that have made me a return customer. Most recent purchases were a 1970s YSL handbag and kimono jacket that always get me compliments when I wear them out.

My friends and I had a very pleasant and wonderful visit at Quirk. I got these beautiful snake skin shoes with a vintage neck scarf which i also fall in love with. I got compliments from people every time i wear them. I wanted to buy everything when I was there. There are jewelry, scarfs , shoes, dresses and the HATS. The price is very affordable so I was a happy shopper. The next best thing ( or the best ) about Quirk is the shop owner, Melynda. She is friendly and extremely helpful in helping you putting your dream outfits together and giving you advices when you needed them. She makes my shopping experience fun and comfortable. The shop is beautiful. I love the warmth and the openness of the shop. It stands out in the middle of the busy downtown LA streets. I will definitely come back and visit again when I come back to LA.
