Description

A wonderfully graphic pair of turn-of-the-millennium thong sandals in fluorescent coral pink, crisp white, black editorial print, and translucent fuchsia.

The white footbeds and outsoles are covered in fragmented text columns, oversized “Letters” headings, fashion illustrations, and late-1990s date references. Glossy fluorescent pink straps cross over contrasting white toe posts, creating a sharp pop of color against the monochrome print.

One sandal is finished with a darkened metal ring embellishment surrounded by small looped details and translucent pink tassel drops. Sculptural fuchsia kitten heels and contrasting pale-yellow heel-tip caps add another playful layer to the design.

The original underside sticker remains attached and identifies the style as “tongue fluo 5cm,” “Rose fluo,” and size 37, confirming the thong construction, fluorescent pink color, and approximately five-centimeter heel.

Wear them with a black slip dress, white trousers, faded denim, a sharply tailored suit, or a narrow mini skirt. They also work beautifully with graphic prints, silver accessories, saturated pink accents, and compact turn-of-the-millennium bags.

Fit Notes

Marked EU 37 and estimated to best fit a modern women’s US 6/6.5.

The open toe offers some flexibility in overall length. The fixed thong construction, narrow-looking footbeds, and nonadjustable straps may feel closer through the forefoot than a contemporary sandal in the same conversion range.

Approximate modern international equivalents are UK 4/4.5, EU/FR/IT 37, and JP 22.5/23. These conversions are guidance rather than guaranteed equivalents because fit varies according to maker, production period, foot shape, strap placement, and preferred toe room.

Condition

Good Vintage Condition.

The fluorescent coral-pink straps retain strong color and gloss. Visible wear includes light creasing, surface rubbing, scattered marks, slight discoloration, and minor edge wear consistent with prior use.

The white toe posts show visible surface soiling, rubbing, and age-related discoloration. The printed footbeds retain clear text and illustration details, with grey-toned transfer, scuffing, impressions, surface marks, and localized handling wear around the toes and other high-contact areas.

The coordinating printed outsoles retain most of their graphic surface and show moderate scuffing, scratches, discoloration, edge wear, and localized finish loss. The original size and product sticker remains attached to one outsole.

Both translucent fuchsia heels remain present and appear structurally intact. The heel surfaces show light scratching, clouding, and tonal variation. Both contrasting pale-yellow heel-tip caps remain attached.

A decorative ring-and-tassel embellishment is present on one sandal only. No matching embellishment or clear removal damage is visible on the second sandal, so it cannot be confirmed from the supplied evidence whether the asymmetry was original to the design.

No completely detached strap, obvious sole separation, major visible heel crack, collapsed heel, or other structural failure is visible in the supplied photographs. Please review all images closely, particularly the straps, white toe posts, printed surfaces, embellishment, translucent heels, heel tips, and outsole edges.

Styling Notes

Pair these with a black slip dress, crisp white trousers, faded denim, a fitted tank, or a sharply cut mini skirt.

For a stronger turn-of-the-millennium treatment, add tinted eyewear, silver jewelry, a compact shoulder bag, and one intentionally fluorescent accent.

Curation Note

Each Quirk piece is hand selected by our team for quality, construction, styling potential, and point of view.

So thankful for Quirk and their pop up for folks affected from the fires! I've been able to stop by a few times to pick up much needed items after losing my things from the fires. They offer everything from clothing, shoes, hygiene items, accessories, and you'll find a combination of brand new and gently used items. The volunteers are literally the sweetest and most helpful. It genuinely feels like a peaceful, fun, and productive shopping experience. So grateful for quirk and their pop up, strongly recommend.

Best selection of curated designer vintage clothing in LA. Maybe even on the west coast. Great prices. Great quality. I’ve had pieces for years. Great customer service and styling advice to boot.

I volunteered at Quirk all afternoon today, and there is so much love and support alive in that space. They are overwhelmed with so many incredible donations and every single thing is being sorted and placed directly into the free shop where fire victims can come shop and get what they need. All items are the same quality you would find in a thrift store like Buffalo Exchange. There were volunteers helping people find clothing items that fit and served their needs while they’re grappling with the loss of their homes and belongings. There are so many ways fire victims need support and this is one of them! Thank you Quirk and the other amazing organization and businesses stepping up to help our community!

I've been coming to Quirk for years now. Some of my favorite pieces have come from her shop and I always get compliments. It's the perfect place to get something unique that not everyone has. Top quality items. One of my first pieces I bought from her is a vintage Armani blazer that has become a regular staple piece for me. Still in my rotation years later :) The shopping experience itself is always a treat (coming from someone who doesn't like shopping). Melynda is super welcoming and helpful if you're looking for something in particular. If she doesn't have it, it's likely she will soon, as she's regularly getting new inventory. Also, be sure to check out her shopping events!

This is the cutest store with a really well curated selection. Makes sense because the owner is a renowned stylist who has worked here and abroad. 10/10 recommend.

Quirk for Fire Vicitms has been such a special place for me. I have found wonderful clothes to get myself started after losing my home in Pacific Palisades. The boutique is clean, organized and the volunteers are so kind and helpful. Melinda who runs has become my friend and I have run into other friends who lost their homes and met many new ones. 5 stars plus another 5 stars

I volunteered at The People's Free Boutique while it was still in its temporary space, and I am better for it. It is a wonderful resource, Melynda has been so organized, compassionate, and all around an amazing leader for this huge effort to assist those impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires. Through some folks' worst days, Melynda and the Quirk team were there. It's amazing that Melynda has kept it up for as long as she has, and I hope the People's Free Boutique can stay open as long as there is a community need.

I had a really good experience at Quirk. Its located in DTLA which is known to give you headaches with parking. Luckily there were several fairly priced garage options on the same block. The shop is located on the second floor of this cool, early 20th century style building. I love vintage buildings so I was hyped before I even stepped into Quirk. But once inside I was really digging the vibes. They have a really selection of vintage, modern clothes for women and men. With assistance of the curator, Melynda, I was able to grab a few items for an upcoming headshot session. I didn't have to break the bank as the items I purchased were from a $20 rack. I will def go again. I highly recommend checking it out.
