Modern / Present day | Quirk Acid Butterfly High-Waisted Bikini Bottoms

Bright green butterfly wings, dark markings and flashes of pink meet a high waist and a clean, pull-on shape. Acid Butterfly bikini bottoms are double layered, with a contrasting pink lining. Handmade to order in XS–XL from recycled polyester and elastane. Bottoms only; choose your top separately.

The broad waistband lets the butterfly-wing collage read as a continuous field of colour. Wear the matching print for the full effect, or pair these high-waisted swim bottoms with a black top to keep the focus on the wings.

Description

Acid Butterfly high-waisted bikini bottoms bring the wing print into close focus: green bands, dark veining and brown markings, interrupted by small patches of pink and yellow. The high waist gives the collage room to spread out. Inside, a pink lining picks up the brightest notes in the print.

A butterfly print with a high-waisted cut

The shape is simple: a broad waistband, curved leg openings and a pull-on fit, with no side ties to interrupt the pattern. Double-layered recycled stretch fabric gives you a lined swimsuit bottom; the pink interior is not a reversible second look.

  • Quirk butterfly-wing print in green, brown, black, pink and yellow
  • High waist with a broad waistband
  • Recycled polyester and elastane fabric
  • Double layered with a contrasting pink lining
  • Handmade to order in XS, S, M, L and XL
  • Bottoms only; top sold separately

Choose your size

Measure around your natural waist and the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape level. The table gives body measurements, not flat garment measurements. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size. Our general size filters help you browse; these measurements are the guide to this particular cut.

Body measurements in inches (centimetres)
Size Waist Hips
XS 25¼ (64) 35⅜ (90)
S 26¾ (68) 37 (94)
M 28⅜ (72) 38⅝ (98)
L 31½ (80) 41¾ (106)
XL 34⅝ (88) 44⅞ (114)

Fabric and care

Fabric composition varies by production location: 75% recycled polyester and 25% elastane for US/Mexico production, or 88% recycled polyester and 12% elastane for Latvia production. Rinse after swimming to remove salt or chlorine, and follow the care label when washing.

Wear the print together—or separately

Pair these bottoms with the Acid Butterfly recycled bikini top for the matching print, choosing each piece in the size you need. A plain black top leaves the colour concentrated at the waist. Explore our two-piece swimwear for other combinations.

One of the coolest places I’ve stumbled upon thus far. Unlike some other vintage stores where it feels like it’s full of marked-up Goodwill items, Melynda takes the time to research and select all the items she puts out in the store. When I stopped by, she even let me look through some items she hadn’t put out yet, and I found a really cool vintage Western button-up. The men’s section is not neglected either, full of some really cool shirts, pants, jackets, shoes, and other accessories. If you’re looking to find a unique piece in a friendly environment, this is the place for you.

Upon having dinner in DTLA a friend and I stumbled upon QUIRK, what a treasure of a vintage store. A hidden gem!!! An insider's secret.. but not for long. Loved Melynda's eye for well curated vintage clothing and accessories. Working as a stylist in Films and Editorial, Melynda is defintely on point. Instantly we felt right at home in her inviting shop. From designer to hard to find vintage, its all there. What a happy find!!!

Quirk is the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you’ve inherited the wardrobe of a rich, eccentric aunt who traveled the world and kept all the best pieces. Every rack feels intentional, lived in, and full of personality. Nothing feels random. Each item has a story, and you can sense it the moment you start browsing. The bag selection alone is worth the stop. There are so many standout pieces that feel like true finds, not just resale. The kind of bags you don’t see twice. What really makes this place special is the owner, Melynda. She’s genuinely fun to talk to and clearly passionate about what she curates. You can tell there’s pride and care behind every piece in the shop. Talking with her about vintage fashion and the stories behind the items made the experience feel personal, not transactional. This ended up being one of the coolest spots I stumbled into in the fashion district. If you appreciate vintage that feels curated and soulful rather than picked over, Quirk is a must.

5 stars for what they are doing for the community but not for my personal experience. They were listed on the wildfire Google sheet / website as one of the few places still accepting donations, so I brought all my unworn clothes over. The address on the website and online is not the correct one, so had to get back in my car and find new parking closer to the new location. Then I get inside and they said donations are by appointment only. 30 minute drive and a lot of parking hassle with nothing to show for it. Would be nice if they updated their donation status and location on the Google sheet. Annoying for me but glad they are helping those in need. The new location is in the photo.

Where shall I begin? My cuz and I went because we lost everything in the fire! Trent greeted us, Carmen helped me snd Allison my cuz. They treated us like Gold! We both felt very special! What a gem of a place! Everything I took home fit. The clothes were fabulous but Trent was so cool and cute, Carmen was so very helpful going out if her way for me and Allison helped my cousin hand pick his new wardrobe and not to mention she was gorgeous to boot! Thank you Quirk, Thanks for going above and beyond and for restoring my faith in humanity! Margo and Raul

Melinda who started and runs Quirk the people free boutique is so amazing upbeat and selfless to continue to help all of us that lost our homes. Quirk has been a loving space for me to get help to start over again and a big part of my healing journey I have visited a couple of times and found wonderful clothes to help me get back to work and visit my son at college. It is organized, clean and has great donations. I am forever grateful and count Melinda as a new friend. I also met many other fire victims and ran into old friends. Had been a wonderful place for me as I begin my healing journey. 5 stars plus another 5 stars.

I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Quirk fairly recently and I am most certainly delighted I found this little gem! Located on a busy downtown street, its colorful, unique vintage items are arranged and merchandised well! For a small space, a diverse range of eclectic items will most certainly entice you! Trust me, ya won't leave without buying a little keeper! I love the Seven 4 all Mankind Tight pencil skirt I found and I have some items on hold I can't wait to get! The Owner/Stylist, Melynda is an absolute doll, and a pleasure to chat with as you browse the items, If you are a vintage fanatic or Fashionista, check this place out! Tiny but lots of little treasures that are reasonably priced!

Best selection of curated designer vintage clothing in LA. Maybe even on the west coast. Great prices. Great quality. I’ve had pieces for years. Great customer service and styling advice to boot.

I helped out the Free People's Boutique by Quirk by sorting racks and registering shoppers on a Saturday. It was a humbling experience. I was asked to pass on so much gratitude to Melynda and her team by every guest I had the pleasure to assist.

A hidden GEM! There’s so many vintage treasures left and right; from accessories to jackets to skirts. I was in there for a handful of hours trying on some amazing vintage, designer pieces and it felt like a dream! The owner, Melynda, was so sweet and encouraging when I was choosing my final purchases. I’m so happy I ran into this place and found some great pieces to add to my wardrobe!
