A silver butterfly spreads across this black silk sequin top, with smaller trails of sequins following the loose, wing-like shape. The V-neck, open sleeves and pointed hem make the outline as much a part of the design as the embellishment.
Dating approximately to the 1970s–1980s, this piece pairs a bold motif with an easy silhouette. Hand-sewn sequins cover a silk base, giving the top weight and a fluid drape. Silver and black keep the palette simple while the sequins catch the light.
