Modern / Present day | Carrano Zebra Calf-Hair Square-Toe Ankle Boots | Modern size: US 9

Zebra stripes deserve a silhouette that can hold its own. Carrano pairs white-and-black printed calf hair with a square toe and sculptural heel, bringing texture and graphic contrast to this compact ankle boot. The side zipper keeps the shape clean; the covered heel carries the print around to the back. Made in Brazil, this pair is offered in US 9 and runs approximately half a size generous, as noted by Quirk. New retail stock. Let the boots interrupt an all-black outfit, show them beneath a straight trouser hem, or wear them with dark denim and a simple knit.

Description

Zebra stripes, a square toe, and a sculptural heel: Carrano keeps the silhouette compact and lets the print do the talking. Wear them below a clean trouser hem or let them interrupt an otherwise all-black outfit.

The square toe gives the striped calf hair a graphic frame, while the heel makes the rear view part of the design. Keep the rest of the outfit spare: dark denim and a black knit make room for the pattern, and a cropped tailored trouser leaves the ankle shape visible. For a less expected pairing, let the white in the print answer an ivory shirt above an otherwise dark outfit.

Quirk is WONDERFUL! Small but mighty, always new and exciting finds, plus the real deal when it comes to fashion and expression. Owned by a stylist/awesome fashionista, with a passion and drive that offers the best experience in vintage shopping. I got the most gorgeous silk blouse...and some shoes that fit me like Cinderella! If you live in Los Angeles, you know how hard it is to find awesome vintage at a reasonable price. From the fight over Dior at a thrift store, to the snobby and over priced 'bo-ho' Buffalo Exchange, to the trendy and overly pretentious places on Melrose-it's just another face in the crowd, on the scene. It's more comfortable and personable at Quirk. You get the deals, yeah-but the experience is worth more!

I finally walked in after walking by for years when I heard they were in need for volunteers for their donation drive. I'm ashamed I haven't found this store before. The owner is fantastic, she hopped out of a hospital bed and straight to setting up this push to help people. The store, as it's known, on the fourth floor feels like you are thriving with some of the most upbeat staff to aid you find everything you need for woman's clothing, toiletries, and undergarments. On the second is where you can find an almost equal amount of men's, rare to have this ratio in any department store. Kids all the way down to infants, with diapers, and toys. Here you can see volunteers going from room to room sorting through, sizing, and cleaning up donations to stock both floors. Snacks, water, non-perishable food, and a welcome environment has made this a far distinction from digging through a pile of T-shirts on a folding table. My time volunteering here has been exhausting in the best way, the tiredness that comes with knowing you've done good, that your work and presence are valued. I'll continue to be here everyday I can until Melynda gets tired of me saying, "Happy ___day!" We're still here!

Did I jus say,"affordable?" I did NOT know that word still eXisted in fashion these daze, haha !! NO joke, she will sincerely work with ya on pricing. She's a doll, & she's knowledgeable about fashion. I UNeXpectedly "popped-in" & I found the most amazing "rock-starr" coat eva !! I wish this mini-vintage boutique much success.
