Description

The Laundry Day Excuses graphic crop top has a very specific explanation for its outfit: “MY GUCCI T-SHIRT IS IN THE WASH.” A little dripping T-shirt illustration delivers the rest of the joke. This is a Quirk design, printed on a white cotton crop tee, for anyone whose relationship with fashion includes a healthy sense of humor.

The current version is made from 100% combed cotton, with a relaxed body, dropped shoulders and a ribbed crewneck. The 180 g/m² fabric has more substance than the earlier version, while the cropped hem sits neatly above high-waisted trousers or a long skirt. Try it under an open blazer when the rest of the outfit is behaving.

Compare a tee you own with these garment measurements. Length is measured from the highest shoulder point beside the collar to the hem; width is measured flat across the chest, under the sleeves. Garment measurements can vary by up to 2 inches (5 cm).

Care and ordering

Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle. Skip fabric softener; hang dry or tumble dry low. If ironing is needed, use a cool iron inside out and keep it off the print. Do not dry clean.

This top is made to order. Delivery timing and shipping charges depend on your destination and are shown at checkout. The current cotton fabric is not certified organic. Archived product photos show the earlier, slimmer cut; use the measurements above for the current relaxed version.

One of the coolest places I’ve stumbled upon thus far. Unlike some other vintage stores where it feels like it’s full of marked-up Goodwill items, Melynda takes the time to research and select all the items she puts out in the store. When I stopped by, she even let me look through some items she hadn’t put out yet, and I found a really cool vintage Western button-up. The men’s section is not neglected either, full of some really cool shirts, pants, jackets, shoes, and other accessories. If you’re looking to find a unique piece in a friendly environment, this is the place for you.

I finally walked in after walking by for years when I heard they were in need for volunteers for their donation drive. I'm ashamed I haven't found this store before. The owner is fantastic, she hopped out of a hospital bed and straight to setting up this push to help people. The store, as it's known, on the fourth floor feels like you are thriving with some of the most upbeat staff to aid you find everything you need for woman's clothing, toiletries, and undergarments. On the second is where you can find an almost equal amount of men's, rare to have this ratio in any department store. Kids all the way down to infants, with diapers, and toys. Here you can see volunteers going from room to room sorting through, sizing, and cleaning up donations to stock both floors. Snacks, water, non-perishable food, and a welcome environment has made this a far distinction from digging through a pile of T-shirts on a folding table. My time volunteering here has been exhausting in the best way, the tiredness that comes with knowing you've done good, that your work and presence are valued. I'll continue to be here everyday I can until Melynda gets tired of me saying, "Happy ___day!" We're still here!

Great vintage shop in Downtown! With all the new vintage stores popping up around LA these days, Quirk really stands out with having unique, high quality items that are personally curated by the owner, Melynda, who is also a professional stylist and costume designer. Most vintage shops these days are just filled with XXL 80s/90s shirts, and overpriced jeans. Quirk has one-of-a-kind items that have made me a return customer. Most recent purchases were a 1970s YSL handbag and kimono jacket that always get me compliments when I wear them out.

This is such a fabulous find! A true gem tucked away in DTLA!! I went looking for vintage men’s items to match a watch I was gifted, and Melynda helped me pick out the most beautiful suit. She’s amazing too - she has the most fun and quirky style, but also donates clothes to victims of the wildfires. She gave me a tour of “The People’s Free Boutique” and it’s laid out to make those who have lost everything feel like they are really shopping for high-end items rather than getting things for free. My friends and I had a very pleasant and wonderful visit at Quirk. I got these beautiful snake skin shoes with a vintage neck scarf which i also fall in love with. I got compliments from people every time i wear them. I wanted to buy everything when I was there. There are jewelry, scarfs , shoes, dresses and the HATS. The price is very affordable so I was a happy shopper. The next best thing ( or the best ) about Quirk is the shop owner, Melynda. She is friendly and extremely helpful in helping you putting your dream outfits together and giving you advices when you needed them. She makes my shopping experience fun and comfortable. The shop is beautiful. I love the warmth and the openness of the shop. It stands out in the middle of the busy downtown LA streets. I will definitely come back and visit again when I come back to LA.
