A hidden GEM! There’s so many vintage treasures left and right; from accessories to jackets to skirts. I was in there for a handful of hours trying on some amazing vintage, designer pieces and it felt like a dream! The owner, Melynda, was so sweet and encouraging when I was choosing my final purchases. I’m so happy I ran into this place and found some great pieces to add to my wardrobe! QUIRK is the absolute best. I've come several times since 2020 and they never miss. Melynda is a top-tier curator. All her pieces feel hand-picked with thought, care, and a keen eye for taste and style. It's easy to find a great deal here: I've found a vintage Dior wallet at QUIRK, as well as multiple outfits for red carpets, premieres, photoshoots, and day-to-day wear. She keeps prices super fair and reasonable while knowing her stuff when it comes to true vintage, designer, and quality. I always know I'm getting my money's worth. As someone who loves vintage shopping, thrifting, and flea/artist/vintage markets, I'm always looking for vendors and stores, and QUIRK is one of those special places where you can tell vintage is a real passion, not just a place to make a quick buck on a Tiktok trend (though you can definitely find super trendy pieces here too!). At QUIRK, I'd say clothes are treated like found treasure looking for their forever home! I come back again and again because the pieces are fun and always changing. As a store owner, Melynda is friendly, knowledgable, and is great at offering styling advice for each customer's unique taste. I worked with Melynda on a professional photoshoot for my company and ever since then I have been going to her store. Such a great way to change up my style and find new unique items. My mom and I found the Peoples Free Boutique by Quirk after the fires devastated our neighborhood in Altadena. We've been building care boxes for an entire group of people, not just ourselves, and were welcomed into the space. It allowed us to recreate beautiful closets in a safe space, which has become harder to find as the relief efforts continue in the second wave. Very grateful for the energy and dedication that Melynda and her team of volunteers had shown to our community!!

Go check out the Peoples Free Boutique on Spring St if you've been impacted by the fires they will help you rebuild and feel fabulous! If you weren't impacted by the fires but want to support Quirk for now you would message Melynda on Instagram to set up a shopping appointment! This is Amazing what Melynda  with Quirk has done to help the residents of the LA Fires! She jumped in without hesitation and put her own biz in hold to help others in need.  Taking in donations from everyone kindly donating including myself gathering toiletries and rolling racks with the help from the   people in my home town Santa Barbara! 
She created a Free shopping boutique with very stylish clothes , shoes, handbags and also stuff for kids! 
Also added in Hair and facial services so people can feel good during these trying times! 
She's amazing and thank you for everything you are doing! You Rock girl!!!

Melinda who started and runs Quirk the people free boutique is so amazing upbeat and selfless to continue to help all of us that lost our homes. Quirk has been a loving space for me to get help to start over again and a big part of my healing journey I have visited a couple of times and found wonderful clothes to help me get back to work and visit my son at college. It is organized, clean and has great donations. I am forever grateful and count Melinda as a new friend. I also met many other fire victims and ran into old friends. After I lost my home in the Eaton Fire, I desperately needed clothes to wear to the office. I was thrilled to find some beautiful pieces at the People's Free Boutique by Quirk.  Everything was clean, well sorted, in good condition, and I even found some pieces that still had tags on them! This humble little vintage shop, is a HIDDEN GEM in downtown Los Angeles. If ya "blink" ya jus might miss this sweet little treasure chest.. The owners prices R VERY AFFORDABLE. Did I jus say,"affordable?" I did NOT know that word still eXisted in fashion these daze, haha !! NO joke, she will sincerely work with ya on pricing. Great vintage shop in Downtown! With all the new vintage stores popping up around LA these days, Quirk really stands out with having unique, high quality items that are personally curated by the owner, Melynda, who is also a professional stylist and costume designer. Most vintage shops these days are just filled with XXL 80s/90s shirts, and overpriced jeans. Quirk has one-of-a-kind items that have made me a return customer. Quirk is the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you’ve inherited the wardrobe of a rich, eccentric aunt who traveled the world and kept all the best pieces. Every rack feels intentional, lived in, and full of personality. Nothing feels random. Each item has a story, and you can sense it the moment you start browsing.

The bag selection alone is worth the stop. There are so many standout pieces that feel like true finds, not just resale. The kind of bags you don’t see twice.

What really makes this place special is the owner, Melynda. She’s genuinely fun to talk to and clearly passionate about what she curates. You can tell there’s pride and care behind every piece in the shop. Talking with her about vintage fashion and the stories behind the items made the experience feel personal, not transactional.

This ended up being one of the coolest spots I stumbled into in the fashion district. If you appreciate vintage that feels curated and soulful rather than picked over, Quirk is a must.
