The BEST vintage shop in LA!! The minute you walk in you are greeted by the owner and stylist, which is rare for a vintage shop, if you ask me! Melynda is absolutely wonderful and provides excellent customer service! Since she's a professional stylist she's extremely knowledgeable about fashion and helps you coordinate outfits together.  She has a great assortment of women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories. I try to visit the shop once every two weeks, you just can't beat the prices, it's cheaper than Wasteland!  If you are looking for one of a kind vintage pieces from the 1960's to now, Quirk is your place to shop! They carry  Theory, James Perse, APC, Prada, Burberry and many more! 5 stars for what they are doing for the community but not for my personal experience. They were listed on the wildfire Google sheet / website as one of the few places still accepting donations, so I brought all my unworn clothes over. The address on the website and online is not the correct one, so had to get back in my car and find new parking closer to the new location. Then I get inside and they said donations are by appointment only. 30 minute drive and a lot of parking hassle with nothing to show for it. Upon having dinner in DTLA a friend and I stumbled upon QUIRK, what a treasure of a vintage store. A hidden gem!!! An insider's secret.. but not for long. Loved Melynda's eye for well curated vintage clothing and accessories. Working as a stylist in Films and Editorial, Melynda is defintely on point. Great vintage shop in Downtown! With all the new vintage stores popping up around LA these days, Quirk really stands out with having unique, high quality items that are personally curated by the owner, Melynda, who is also a professional stylist and costume designer. Most vintage shops these days are just filled with XXL 80s/90s shirts, and overpriced jeans. Quirk has one-of-a-kind items that have made me a return customer. I had such a wonderful time at Quirk. As someone who has never been to a fashion district and who has never been styled before,  I hadn't extraordinary time getting to know my own sense of fashion. Melynda was so dope and helpful. She helped style me and gave me a new fresh look. I ended up buying something off of the $20 rack so she has affordable options as well. I have joyfully followed Melynda and Quirk grow over the past year. Every time I get a little extra money I pop in to get a nice something-or-another for myself and leave with much more; life stories, fashion advice, and sometimes coffee. The bag selection alone is worth the stop. There are so many standout pieces that feel like true finds, not just resale. The kind of bags you don't see twice.

What really makes this place special is the owner, Melynda. She's genuinely fun to talk to and clearly passionate about what she curates. You can tell there's pride and care behind every piece in the shop. Talking with her about vintage fashion and the stories behind the items made the experience feel personal, not transactional.

Melynda totally saved the day!  She came on a magical unicorn and brought me my dress!  I was searching for a dress for a wedding that went with their Great Gatsby theme and was totally not sure where to begin and what to wear.  She helped me find a necklace and a dress here at the shop that was absolutely perfect!  I got a gold and gunmetal tassel necklace and a robin egg's blue lace Tracy Reese dress.  She was even kind enough to alter the shoulders for me since the wedding was the day of!  They even had a funny wedding card that for the bride and groom!  Mission accomplished, now just have to get a scarf or headpiece for my head to complete the theme and Melynda gave me some tips!!  Will be back for next time when I need her expertise. The Staff at The People’s Free Boutique is amazing.  These folks make the space come alive and fill it with positive energy and a high level of support.

The clothes are well organized by sizes and styles.

Learning about the journey that the organizers took to make this boutique a reality was very inspiring to me.  I learned that this idea became a reality on January 8th - one day after the fire.  This shows the passion, planning, and drive of the staff.

I brought home some much needed clothes and more importantly I left a better person with a renewed outlook on community and collaboration.
