Description

Product Description
A vivid red vintage 1980s Joseph Red Wool Blend Button Front Cardigan, made in Taiwan R.O.C. in a wool-rich knit blend, per the interior tag. The shape is simple but sharp: button front, long sleeves, front patch pockets, and a softly structured neckline that can sit slightly open or buttoned higher.

The knit has a smooth, compact hand rather than a fuzzy texture, giving it a cleaner look than a typical mohair cardigan. The red is strong and saturated, making it a great piece for adding color without feeling overly novelty. It has that easy 1980s knitwear quality: polished enough over a skirt or trouser, but still relaxed with denim.

Wear it buttoned as a top with a black pencil skirt, open over a printed dress, or layered with high-rise denim and flats. It is the kind of unfussy vintage sweater that works because the color, fit, and pockets are all doing just enough.

Marked size Medium. Shown on Dominique, who is 5’9″ and typically wears a modern high-fashion size 2/4, with a 32B bust, 25″ waist, and 37″ hips. On Dominique, this has an easy slim-relaxed fit through the body with enough room to layer underneath. Best for a modern S/M depending on desired fit. Please compare measurements before purchasing.

Size Chart

Sizing Chart to add this for Vintage Clothes Vintage sizing varies greatly by brand, country, garment type, and time period. The marked vintage size may not reflect today’s sizing standards. Whenever possible, we provide both the original marked size and our estimated modern US size equivalent. This estimate is based on the item’s era, construction, fabric behavior, relevant size references, and how the piece fits on the model shown. We do not clip, pin, or artificially alter garments when photographing them. The model’s size, measurements, and visible fit are the best guides for understanding modern fit. I worked with Melynda on a professional photoshoot for my company and ever since then I have been going to her store. Such a great way to change up my style and find new unique items. I am a proud owner of a vintage Italian suit and have even rented a gown for a special event. Always looking for her insight when shopping there.

QUIRK is the absolute best. I've come several times since 2020 and they never miss. Melynda is a top-tier curator. All her pieces feel hand-picked with thought, care, and a keen eye for taste and style. It's easy to find a great deal here: I've found a vintage Dior wallet at QUIRK, as well as multiple outfits for red carpets, premieres, photoshoots, and day-to-day wear. She keeps prices super fair and reasonable while knowing her stuff when it comes to true vintage, designer, and quality. I always know I'm getting my money's worth. As someone who loves vintage shopping, thrifting, and flea/artist/vintage markets, I'm always looking for vendors and stores, and QUIRK is one of those special places where you can tell vintage is a real passion, not just a place to make a quick buck on a Tiktok trend (though you can definitely find super trendy pieces here too!). At QUIRK, I'd say clothes are treated like found treasure looking for their forever home! I come back again and again because the pieces are fun and always changing. As a store owner, Melynda is friendly, knowledgable, and is great at offering styling advice for each customer's unique taste. She keeps such a positive shopping atmosphere in the store—I'll always keep returning! Love love love it!

Upon having dinner in DTLA a friend and I stumbled upon QUIRK, what a treasure of a vintage store. A hidden gem!!! An insider's secret.. but not for long. Loved Melynda's eye for well curated vintage clothing and accessories. Working as a stylist in Films and Editorial, Melynda is defintely on point. Instantly we felt right at home in her inviting shop. From designer to hard to find vintage, its all there. What a happy find!!!

This is Amazing what Melynda with Quirk has done to help the residents of the LA Fires! She jumped in without hesitation and put her own biz in hold to help others in need. Taking in donations from everyone kindly donating including myself gathering toiletries and rolling racks with the help from the people in my home town Santa Barbara! She created a Free shopping boutique with very stylish clothes , shoes, handbags and also stuff for kids! Also added in Hair and facial services so people can feel good during these trying times! She's amazing and thank you for everything you are doing! You Rock girl!!! Many continued blessings to you!! Patricia

An absolute gem of a boutique, with a constant stream of unique vintage pieces! I was able to get the perfect dress, pumps, handbag, and hat for a formal tea at very short notice. The store is easy to access in the second floor of a fashion design building. The owner is a talented costume designer with a wealth of experience from film and more. Whether you go in with a decade-specific goal in mind, or are just looking for a special treasure, you will surely find something magical!!!

It was my 2nd or 3rd time browsing the site, and my first time purchasing from it. I was familiar with the site and brand (was recommended by a close friend of mine who has good taste), and decided to check it out. I liked the layout of the site, made it pretty easy to look for what I like, and found what I wanted in like 4 minutes after browsing. Paying was straightforward, I received the package in about 10 days (flat fee for shipping), and it fit pretty well. The shirt fit me well, and I liked the length of it which was longer than typical shirts, I appreciated the minimalism of it. All in all, a great purchase! 5 stars.

Quirk is a great place to rent or buy unique clothing. Melynda has curated such a great variety of items. I rented a gorgeous gown for a work event and bought multiple things including a vintage Italian suit that I get complimented on all the time. It is a wonder place to discover and elevate your personal style.
