Description

Blue, green and pink florals give this fitted dress its playful side. The front keeps a neat, sleeveless line, while a low scoop back and softly draped panels add movement above the straight skirt. The watercolor-like pattern softens the close silhouette, with pale flowers blending into the blue-green ground.

A wiggle shape follows the body rather than opening into a full skirt. Here, the interest comes from the different treatment of front and back: a fairly quiet neckline in front, a deeper opening and loose fabric behind. It is worth choosing a layer you will be happy to take off, so those back details can have their moment.

Dress it your way

Our styling brings in a blue bow and patterned gloves, picking up colors already in the dress. You could borrow just one part of that idea. A small heel and bright earrings would keep the outfit light; a blue bag could echo the print without adding another pattern.

The BEST vintage shop in LA!! The minute you walk in you are greeted by the owner and stylist, which is rare for a vintage shop, if you ask me! Melynda is absolutely wonderful and provides excellent customer service! Since she's a professional stylist she's extremely knowledgeable about fashion and helps you coordinate outfits together. She has a great assortment of women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories. I try to visit the shop once every two weeks, you just can't beat the prices, it's cheaper than Wasteland! 5 stars for what they are doing for the community but not for my personal experience. They were listed on the wildfire Google sheet / website as one of the few places still accepting donations, so I brought all my unworn clothes over. The address on the website and online is not the correct one, so had to get back in my car and find new parking closer to the new location. Then I get inside and they said donations are by appointment only. 30 minute drive and a lot of parking hassle with nothing to show for it. Would be nice if they updated their donation status and location on the Google sheet. Annoying for me but glad they are helping those in need. The new location is in the photo.

Great vintage shop in Downtown! With all the new vintage stores popping up around LA these days, Quirk really stands out with having unique, high quality items that are personally curated by the owner, Melynda, who is also a professional stylist and costume designer. Most vintage shops these days are just filled with XXL 80s/90s shirts, and overpriced jeans. Quirk has one-of-a-kind items that have made me a return customer. Most recent purchases were a 1970s YSL handbag and kimono jacket that always get me compliments when I wear them out.

Melynda totally saved the day! She came on a magical unicorn and brought me my dress! I was searching for a dress for a wedding that went with their Great Gatsby theme and was totally not sure where to begin and what to wear. The Staff at The People’s Free Boutique is amazing. These folks make the space come alive and fill it with positive energy and a high level of support. The clothes are well organized by sizes and styles. Learning about the journey that the organizers took to make this boutique a reality was very inspiring to me. I learned that this idea became a reality on January 8th - one day after the fire. This shows the passion, planning, and drive of the staff. I brought home some much needed clothes and more importantly I left a better person with a renewed outlook on community and collaboration.
