Description
Curved rows of beadwork overlap across this plum-purple Stenay silk blouse, giving the surface a rippling pattern. The design continues over the short sleeves and back, then resolves into a scalloped hem. The color is deep enough to let the texture emerge gradually as the light changes.
What makes this an interesting evening separate is the relationship between the pattern and the cut. The beadwork has movement, but the blouse itself has a straightforward round neckline and an easy-looking, untucked shape. Along the bottom, the scallops follow the decoration instead of cutting it off with a straight edge. Leave that finish visible over a skirt or trousers.
The combination of silk and hand beading brings detail to a small area of the wardrobe. You can build the rest of the outfit around the plum shade, or treat it as a dark neutral and introduce another color. Soft pink picks up its warmth; olive makes a less expected partner.
Not just for after dark
We photographed it with bright printed shorts, a playful way to bring an evening blouse into daylight. Try olive trousers and a low loafer for a different balance, or wear it with a pale pink skirt and burgundy shoes. For dinner, a long black skirt and a compact satin bag keep the focus on the curved beadwork.
Keep necklaces simple or leave them off entirely. The blouse already frames the face, and a little earring will finish the outfit without competing. The printed shorts are styling pieces and are not included.
