Melinda who started and runs Quirk the people free boutique is so amazing upbeat and selfless to continue to help all of us that lost our homes. Quirk has been a loving space for me to get help to start over again and a big part of my healing journey I have visited a couple of times and found wonderful clothes to help me get back to work and visit my son at college. It is organized, clean and has great donations. I am forever grateful and count Melinda as a new friend. I also met many other fire victims and ran into old friends. I was so happy to finally find a store in the heart of Dtla that sells true vintage clothing and accessories! It gets better- the owner, Melynda is a stylist/ costume designer who gave me style advice on a whim. Prices are reasonable and there’s even a $20 rack!

QUIRK is the absolute best. I've come several times since 2020 and they never miss. Melynda is a top-tier curator. All her pieces feel hand-picked with thought, care, and a keen eye for taste and style. It's easy to find a great deal here: I've found a vintage Dior wallet at QUIRK, as well as multiple outfits for red carpets, premieres, photoshoots, and day-to-day wear. She keeps prices super fair and reasonable while knowing her stuff when it comes to true vintage, designer, and quality. I always know I'm getting my money's worth. As someone who loves vintage shopping, thrifting, and flea/artist/vintage markets, I'm always looking for vendors and stores, and QUIRK is one of those special places where you can tell vintage is a real passion, not just a place to make a quick buck on a Tiktok trend (though you can definitely find super trendy pieces here too!). At QUIRK, I'd say clothes are treated like found treasure looking for their forever home! I come back again and again because the pieces are fun and always changing. As a store owner, Melynda is friendly, knowledgable, and is great at offering styling advice for each customer's unique taste. After I lost my home in the Eaton Fire, I desperately needed clothes to wear to the office. I was thrilled to find some beautiful pieces at the People's Free Boutique by Quirk.  Everything was clean, well sorted, in good condition, and I even found some pieces that still had tags on them! It was my 2nd or 3rd time browsing the site, and my first time purchasing from it. I was familiar with the site and brand (was recommended by a close friend of mine who has good taste), and decided to check it out. I liked the layout of the site, made it pretty easy to look for what I like, and found what I wanted in like 4 minutes after browsing. Paying was straightforward, I received the package in about 10 days (flat fee for shipping), and it fit pretty well. The shirt fit me well, and I liked the length of it which was longer than typical shirts, I appreciated the minimalism of it. All in all, a great purchase! 5 stars.
