Strawberry opera gloves with enough colour to carry an outfit. Red berries tumble across a mint-green ground, drawn by Quirk founder and designer Melynda. The original illustration keeps its loose, expressive lines when translated onto plush crushed velvet.

Tastes Like Strawberry opera gloves

The long, over-elbow shape is theatrical; the fruit print has a sense of humour. Soft, stretchy velour follows the hand and arm, with a crushed finish that catches the light. Each pair is handmade to order. Wear them with a simple dress and let the strawberries do the talking, or mix them with another print as shown in our photographs.

Measure around your knuckles, then from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your hand. Use both measurements to choose a size. These are measurements of your hand, not the finished glove. The height of the cuff on your upper arm will vary with your proportions.

I rented a gorgeous gown for a work event and bought multiple things including a vintage Italian suit that I get complimented on all the time. The boutique is clean, organized and the volunteers are so kind and helpful. This is such a fabulous find! A true gem tucked away in DTLA!! I went looking for vintage men’s items to match a watch I was gifted, and Melynda helped me pick out the most beautiful suit. She’s amazing too - she has the most fun and quirky style, but also donates clothes to victims of the wildfires. She gave me a tour of “The People’s Free Boutique” and it’s laid out to make those who have lost everything feel like they are really shopping for high-end items rather than getting things for free. I finally walked in after walking by for years when I heard they were in need for volunteers for their donation drive. I'm ashamed I haven't found this store before. The owner is fantastic, she hopped out of a hospital bed and straight to setting up this push to help people. The store, as it's known, on the fourth floor feels like you are thriving with some of the most upbeat staff to aid you find everything you need for woman's clothing, toiletries, and undergarments. On the second is where you can find an almost equal amount of men's, rare to have this ratio in any department store. Kids all the way down to infants, with diapers, and toys. Here you can see volunteers going from room to room sorting through, sizing, and cleaning up donations to stock both floors. Snacks, water, non-perishable food, and a welcome environment has made this a far distinction from digging through a pile of T-shirts on a folding table. My time volunteering here has been exhausting in the best way, the tiredness that comes with knowing you've done good, that your work and presence are valued. I'll continue to be here everyday I can until Melynda gets tired of me saying, "Happy ___day!" We're still here!

I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Quirk fairly recently and I am most certainly delighted I found this little gem! Located on a busy downtown street, its colorful, unique vintage items are arranged and merchandised well! For a small space, a diverse range of eclectic items will most certainly entice you! Trust me, ya won't leave without buying a little keeper! I love the Seven 4 all Mankind Tight pencil skirt I found and I have some items on hold I can't wait to get! The Owner/Stylist, Melynda is an absolute doll, and a pleasure to chat with as you browse the items, If you are a vintage fanatic or Fashionista, check this place out! I had a really good experience at Quirk. Its located in DTLA which is known to give you headaches with parking. Luckily there were several fairly priced garage options on the same block. The shop is located on the second floor of this cool, early 20th century style building. I love vintage buildings so I was hyped before I even stepped into Quirk. But once inside I was really digging the vibes. They have a really selection of vintage, modern clothes for women and men. With assistance of the curator, Melynda, I was able to grab a few items for an upcoming headshot session. I didn't have to break the bank as the items I purchased were from a $20 rack. Went by on a Saturday with my daughter.  Melynda was awesome and helpful, as always.  We both found things we needed.  What I appreciate about Melynda is the personal service and how she honestly cares about if something is "right" for you or not. This humble little vintage shop, is a HIDDEN GEM in downtown Los Angeles. If ya "blink" ya jus might miss this sweet little treasure chest.. The owners prices R VERY AFFORDABLE. Did I jus say,"affordable?" I did NOT know that word still eXisted in fashion these daze, haha !! NO joke, she will sincerely work with ya on pricing.
